Boaz was once a prime destination for outlet shopping. In the height of the outlet boom of the late 1980s, as many as 5 million people a year came to Boaz, making it the state’s largest tourist attraction at the time. Although the outlet trend has died down, left behind is a community invested in the future and open to innovation.
Historic downtown Boaz includes the beautifully-maintained facilities of Snead State Community College, a thriving public community college that was founded in 1898 and is listed on the national register of historic places. Snead State Athletics consistently compete nationally and serve as a pride point for the community.
